Blood drive next week

From staff reports

The CUE Atrium will be the scene of a campus-wide blood drive put on by the American Red Cross Association.

The blood drive will be held Feb. 23 – 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., according to a WSU News release.

To donate, candidates must meet a certain height-to-weight ratio for safety reasons, according to the American Red Cross website. First-time donors will also need to bring either one form of a primary ID, such as a driver’s license, or two forms of valid secondary ID, which includes Cougar Cards, according to the website.

Donors should come hydrated and full, as the website recommends to drink 16 ounces of water beforehand and to eat a healthy meal, being sure to avoid fats, according to the website.

People who donate will be given free orange juice and cookies. Donors are also encouraged to relax and not over-exert themselves after donating, according to the website.
