Whitman County election results update

About 4,050 ballots remaining, next count to occur Wednesday

With just over 3,000 votes counted, both incumbent Pullman City councilmembers in contested elections lead their respective challengers.

Eileen Macoll, at-large, and Ann Parks, Ward 1, lead challengers Francis Benjamin and Chris Johnson, respectively, according to the Whitman County Elections website

Macoll leads Benjamin for the at-large seat with 51.6 percent of the 997 votes cast, according to the election website. Benjamin has 47.7 percent of the vote. 

Parks leads Johnson for the Ward 1 seat with 54.8 percent of the 645 votes cast, according to the election website. Johnson trails with 44.8 percent of the vote. 

Councilmembers Nathan Weller and Pat Wright ran unopposed for Wards 2 and 3, respectively, and each has greater than 95 percent of the vote with fewer than 10 write-ins for each seat. 

Mayor Glenn Johnson ran unopposed and has 95.1 percent of the vote, according to the election website. Fewer than 45 people wrote in another candidate.

The next ballot counting is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the election website and about 4,050 ballots remain.
