The No. 37 Cougar volleyball team bested No. 101 Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon 3-1.

Freshman outside hitter Alexcis Lusby was on fire Thursday. She scored 15 kills against OSU, beating her season-high of 14 against UT Rio Grande Valley.

The WSU Cougars (19-5,8-4) couldn’t keep up with the OSU Beavers (9-14,3-9) in the first set. OSU led the entire time. Lusby scored five kills for her team alone. OSU took the first set and won 25-18.

WSU stepped it up in the second set. They had a six-point kill streak thanks to Freshman middle blocker Magda Jehlárová and Lusby working together so well to block out the ball. Redshirt freshman outside hitter Kaylah Williams scored the final kill, which gave the Cougars a set win at 25-20.

OSU led the beginning of the third set until WSU tied the score at 10-10. The team picked up its consistency with kills and blocks. They were not letting up, OSU only scoring 15 against them in the third set. WSU won 25-15.

WSU kept up their consistent plays in the fourth set, keeping a tight front.

Lusby kept up her impressive playing and scored the final kill. The Cougars won 25-16

WSU led the hitting percentage with .197 and USC finished with .081.

The Cougars will play the University of Oregon Ducks at noon on Sunday at the University of Oregon.
