Whitman county confirms 55 cases, another COVID-19 related death

One patient died today, four others are currently hospitalized

Whitman County recorded its second COVID-19 related death after a female patient aged 60-79 years died today. Fifty-five individuals have tested positive since Friday, bringing the county’s total to 1,539 cases. 

Of the new patients, seven females and five males are aged 0-19 years, according to a press release from the Whitman County Emergency Operations Center. Twenty-nine patients are aged 20-39 years, 12 are female and 17 are male. Five females and two males are aged 40-59 years. Six patients are aged 60-79 years, four are female and two are male. One patient is male aged over 80 years.

Four patients are currently hospitalized, according to the press release. This brings the total hospitalizations in the county to 11. 

All other patients are stable and self-isolating, according to the release. 

Residents are reminded to wear masks, practice social distancing and avoid large gatherings.
