Whitman County confirms one death, 117 new COVID-19 cases

Twenty-three total deaths in Whitman County; six people currently hospitalized

One male aged 60-79 years recently died from COVID-19, which brings the county’s total number of deaths to 23.

From Jan. 1-8, 117 individuals tested positive for COVID-19, raising Whitman County’s total number of cases to 2,901, according to press releases from the Whitman County Emergency Operations Center. 

Of the new cases, five females and 13 males are aged 0-19 years. Twenty-six females and 19 males are aged 20-39 years. Eighteen females and 10 males are aged 40-59 years. Nine females and 11 males are aged 60-79 years. Three females and three males are over the age of 80. 

As of Friday, six people are in the hospital. All other patients are stable and self-isolating, according to Friday’s press release

Residents are reminded to wear masks and practice social distancing.
