Planned Parenthood fire deemed arson

From staff reports

The Planned Parenthood fire that occurred early Friday morning has been deemed an arson, said Pullman’s primary fire investigator Rich Dragoo.

At this point it is not known whether the arson is connected to the recent protests against Planned Parenthood.

Federal investigators from Spokane arrived on the scene of the fire Friday afternoon. Pullman Police forces were not necessarily bringing federal investigators down because they found something, said Pullman Police Cmdr. Chris Tennant.

Dragoo requested the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to assist with the investigation and three agents were dispatched from Spokane, according to a press release from the Pullman Fire Department.

The structure has suffered extensive damage to the front portion of the building and has been deemed structurally unsafe as a result of damaged beams, said Kevin Gardes, Pullman public works director.
