The air fryer is not a useless appliance.

CARSON HOLLAND, Evergreen columnist

I have finally joined the air fryer craze. At first, I watched social media and my friends go bonkers over what looked to me like a cheap kitchen appliance, always keeping their recommendations to get one at arm’s length. I was determined to resist peer pressure, yet a few days ago, I found a package addressed to me that contained the very object I was trying to avoid.

Because I now was the proud owner of an air fryer, it seemed like a waste to not use it, so I perused the internet to find good recipes for chicken breasts. After looking over a fair few of them, reading through pages of the classic recipe blog chaff, so you do not have to, I have come up with what I think is a winning way to cook chicken breast in your air fryer.

You might be like me and cynical about what this little appliance can do, but I will be the first one to say that I was wrong. The chicken came out moist while still having a great crust that gave the chicken breast a lot of flavors, and the best part was that it was super easy. As I am writing this, I am also avoiding cleaning up, so as you go along with me on this odyssey of the air fryer, you may need to wish me luck!

INGREDIENTS:

One medium or two small frozen chicken breasts
Olive oil
Black pepper
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Paprika
Rosemary
Salt

INSTRUCTIONS:

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes

Take a medium-sized chicken breast or two small chicken breasts out of the freezer to defrost. Use the time to get out your seasoning and air fryer.

Place your chicken into the cooking tray of your air fryer and rub enough olive oil into them to coat both sides. This amount will vary depending on how much chicken you are using.

Add your seasoning to the chicken, making sure to rub and pat the seasoning into the chicken so it cooks well with the chicken.

Set your air fryer to 360 degrees and cook for 10 minutes, taking the tray out to flip the chicken. Cook on the other side for another 10 minutes. This should cook your chicken but cut into your chicken to make sure it doesn’t need any more cooking.
Enjoy!
