Pilot of La Crosse plane crash is identified

FAA, NTSB will conduct joint investigation of incident

Kevin Kennedy, a 65-year-old pilot from Arlington, was identified as the person who crashed a single-engine plane on Washington State Route 26. 

Kennedy was flying from Arlington to Colfax on July 1 when his plane lost power. Kennedy crashed on a small airstrip near Mile Point 104 and sustained serious injuries, according to a press release from Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers. 

Life Flight Network later arrived at the crash site and flew Kennedy to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, according to the press release. 

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will be conducting an investigation of the incident, according to the press release.
