Everyone be on your best behavior this weekend – it’s family weekend!

Family Weekend, formerly known as Dad’s and Mom’s weekend, is Nov. 11-13, and the Cougs are ready for it.

The Brelsford WSU Visitor Center will be this weekend’s main attraction, with photography challenges and Cougar Gold cheese tastings. Who doesn’t love eating cheese and taking selfies with their fam?

Students and families are able to pick up challenge cards, available now, that families and friends can go out and complete this weekend, said visitor center manager Elizabeth Rudd-McManus.

Participants can bring the cards back to the visitor center and show a member photographic proof that they have completed all six challenges. The first 70 people to complete the challenge will receive a prize, she said.

“The whole idea is to get people out and into the community, on the campus exploring and enjoying all that Pullman has to offer,” Rudd-McManus said.

Along with the photography challenge, the visitor center will have new products available for people to purchase, as well as Cougar cheese samples, Rudd-McManus said. Samples of Cougar Gold, dill garlic, hot pepper and red pepper garlic will be out on Friday and Saturday while supplies last.

The visitor center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Additionally, on Friday, there will be a 3.1 mile Veteran’s Day hike up Kamiak Butte from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the Student Recreation Center’s website

The center will also host family challenges. One will take place from 9 – 11 a.m. and another will start later in the day from 4 – 6 p.m. on Saturday in the center’s backyard building, according to the center’s website.

People can also attend a cornhole tournament from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., and participants can expect to be guaranteed at least two games.

Those interested in getting involved in the many activities hosted by the center can find more details and registration on its website.

On Saturday, WSU football will play against Arizona State at 12:30 p.m. in Martin Stadium.

The following day, families can attend the Cultural Exhibition hosted by the Pacific Islanders Club from 3-8 p.m. in the Compton Union Building senior ballroom, which requires a ticket to enter.

There are so many family friendly activities planned for this Family Weekend, so be sure to check out all of the awesome opportunities! Go Cougs!
