Coming from just across the state line in Moscow, Idaho, Clara Anderson has shown improvement throughout her career as a WSU swimmer.
In High School, Anderson swam for the Cougar Aquatics Club, and competed for Moscow High School in both swimming and cross-country. Her best events were short-distance freestyle and butterfly, and by the time she was a senior, Anderson was the second-best swimming recruit in the state of Idaho.
As a freshman at WSU, Anderson competed in all ten meets and secured three top-five finishes. Her best finish came at the University of Utah, where she came in fourth in the 100-yard butterfly.
In 2023-24, Anderson competed in all nine meets and again put together her best finish at Utah. There, she finished in third place in the 100-yard butterfly.
Anderson swam in ten meets as a junior during the 2024-25 season and showed progress in the second half of the season, where she notched six top-five finishes. She placed third against Idaho in the 100-yard butterfly and third against Utah Tech in the 100-yard medley. She placed second against Utah Tech in the 200-yard butterfly and against Idaho in the 200-yard butterfly.
Anderson capped off her junior year with a win at the Mountain West tournament in the 100-yard butterfly.
