Alena Watts is a junior defender from Marietta, Georgia, who plays for the Cougar soccer team.
In High School, she played for the Lassiter Trojans, where she was a member of the 2022 6A All-State second team. She helped lead the Trojans to a 6A State Title in 2022, and her squad reached the state semifinals the following season.
She came to WSU in 2023 and, as a freshman, made one start among eight games played. Watts played 139 minutes and attempted three shots, with a perfect 1.000 shots-on-goal percentage.
In 2024, Watts played in 19 games and started 15 of them, breaking out as a key member of the Cougars. She attempted 13 shots, but recorded only a single shot-on-goal. Watts played 1291 minutes and recorded the first assist of her collegiate career in the Cougs’ 1-0 win over Georgia Southern. That was also the first game Watts played a full 90 minutes.
