Jamarey Smith is a freshman cornerback from Santa Clarita, California, who could make his WSU debut in 2025.
The 6-foot-1 cornerback played football at Oaks Christian School. In his senior year, Smith recorded 60 tackles and two interceptions, including a pick-six. ESPN and 247Sports.com both ranked Smith as a three-star prospect.
National recruiting analyst Greg Biggins has high hopes for Smith.
“He’s an easy Power 4 prospect and someone who we think can be a multi-year starter at the next level,” writes Biggins. “He could easily transition to safety in college and did play some safety last season as well.”
With his combination of speed and physicality, Smith could play a role in the Wazzu secondary as early as the 2025 season.
