Trey Leckner is a redshirt sophomore tight end for the WSU football team. He was the Cougars’ second-string tight end in 2024.
Leckner played football at Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish, Washington. He played running back and tight end. As a junior, he rushed for 1,134 yards and 18 touchdowns, while also catching 20 passes for 416 yards and five scores. In his senior season, he caught 28 passes for 557 yards and 13 touchdowns, and added two scores on the ground.
ESPN.com ranked Leckner as the No. 11 prospect in Washington state, and he committed to WSU in 2023. He spent 2023 as a redshirt season and made his debut with the Cougars in 2024.
In 2024, Leckner appeared in 12 games. He caught five passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. Leckner averaged 17.4 yards per catch and displayed potential to be a future starter at tight end for the Cougs.
