Trey Ridley is a redshirt freshman safety who transferred to WSU from South Dakota State University in 2025.
Ridley grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, and played high school football at Blue Valley Northwest High School.
Ridley starred in high school. His three interceptions as a junior helped him earn an all-state selection. He earned another all-state selection in his senior season and was a finalist for the Kansas Defensive Player of the Year award.
In 2024, Ridley played for SDSU, appearing in six games. Because he only appeared in three regular-season games (and three in the postseason), he was able to retain redshirt eligibility. He made four tackles.
Ridley followed head coach Jimmy Rogers from SDSU to WSU in 2025.
