Top 10: A Tier: The Real Deal
10. Washington Commanders (2-1) -1
Despite the injury of their star quarterback Jayden Daniels and their first string running back Austin Ekeler, this team put up quite the impressive performance against the Raiders to move to 2-1.
The rushing game really shined as back up quarterback Mariota, and running backs Jeremy McNichols and Jacorey Croskey-Merritt all combined for three rushing touchdowns in their 41 point performance this past week.
Although the Commanders were unable to compete with a true contender like the Packers, their dominance with backups taking the field against a decent team in the Raiders goes to show this teams true talent.
9. Indianapolis Colts (3-0) +3
This team just continues to impress. Shane Steichen’s offense has allowed Daniel Jones to thrive as he’s combined for 63 completions on 88 attempts and three touchdowns during this 3-0 start.
The stars have also come to shine as players like Johnathon Taylor who was predicted to be mediocre by many has 60 carries on 338 yards and three touchdowns and is one of the best backs in the league at this point.
As players like Tyler Warren and Micheal Pittman Jr. give Daniel Jones threats in the passing game, and the run game is as explosive as it has been since Taylor’s lead rusher season, it is hard not to see the Colts as a long term threat and a top team as the league.
8. Los Angeles Rams (2-1) -1
Despite a tough loss against the defending champs that came off a blocked field goal, the 2-1 Rams are still a top team in the league. Matthew Stafford has looked electric this season. 66.3% completion rate with five touchdowns and two interceptions.
Meanwhile, pass catchers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams have had a great start to the season, combining for 42 receptions, 546 yards, and two touchdowns over the first three games. Kyren Williams hasn’t looked too bad himself either, rushing for 226 yards on 55 carries and a touchdown.
This team has been quite impressive to start the season, and it’s safe to say they’ll make a deep run in the playoffs with this kind of production.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-0) +3
The 3-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers look electric on both sides of the ball to start the season. Baker’s flawless start has been more than impressive with 61 completions on 615 passing yards and six touchdowns with zero interceptions.
2025 first round draft pick Emeka Egbuka has looked like a rookie of the year candidate on 14 receptions for 181 yards and three touchdowns and looks like a star wide out straight out the gate.
This defense has looked stunning as well, with Reddick and Vita Vea disrupting the line of scrimmage, this team looks to be in good hands for the 2025 season.
6. Philadelphia Eagles (3-0) -2
Despite starting off 3-0, the defending champs do not look themselves so far this season. Jalen Hurts has 77 passing attempts over the last three games on 479 yards and three touchdowns.
Yet this pass attack has looked abysmal as both AJ Brown and Devonta Smith have less than 20 targets and each only one touchdown over the last three games, and both of them occurred in week three against the Rams.
Philly’s run game and defense has been the key to their success in these first three weeks. Hurts and Barkley have combined for six rushing touchdowns, and key defensive players like Jalen Carter and Quinyon MItchell to name a few have come up big time for this team. Despite an ugly start, they are still the defending champs and proved they still got it against the Rams the past Sunday.
S Tier: Super Bowl Ready
5. Los Angeles Chargers (3-0) +1
After three statement wins and a sweep of their division, the Chargers proved their not only the best team in the AFC West, but a top team in the league. Justin Herbert has looked electric to start the season putting up a stat line of 72 completions on 860 yards and six touchdowns with one interceptions.
Despite the slow start to the season, rookie running back Omarion Hampton had a breakout game against the Broncos this past Sunday as he became the sole back with a Najee Harris injury. The passing catchers have also been on point, as third year Quinten Johnson and veteran Keenan Allen have combined for six passing touchdowns over the last three games.
This defense has also come up big to start the season. Players like Derwin James Jr. and Daiyan Henly, who was a former WSU football player, have come up big for this team week in and week out. This well rounded and talented roster has proved its talent and has shown to be a top tier team in the league this season.
4. Baltimore Ravens (1-2) -1
Although the Ravens have started the season off slow with a 1-2 start, this team is still an elite team in the NFL. Lamar is sitting with a 72% completion rate on 722 yards and nine touchdowns over the last three games, and the offense as a whole has shined, putting up 40 plus points in the first two weeks of the season.
This team has made some killer mistakes despite the talent, Derrick Henry is averaging a fumble a game and one that even cost them a chance to beat the Lions on Monday night and this defense is struggling as well, allowing a comeback from Buffalo in week one and a massive performance from Detroit’s offense.
Even with the rough start of the season, this Baltimore team lost to two arguably super bowl contenders in close games that they lost over a few mistakes. Even with the errors this team is still elite and will be one of the best as the year goes on.
3. Detroit Lions (2-1) +2
After a blowout loss against the division rival Packers in week one, this team has bounced back and looked to be their normal selves. In back to back weeks they dominated against the Bears and Ravens, in which their offense looked just as good as when Ben Johnson was at the helm.
Players like Amon Ra St. Brown who combined for four passing touchdowns over the last two games, and David Montgomery with two rushing touchdowns in a dominant win over Baltimore on Monday night.
This team’s dominant performance on both sides of the ball as the defense was able to shut down Lamar and Derrick Henry, it is safe to say this team has its spark back. Under Dan Campbell, this team looks great and it looks like they are a lock to be a super bowl contender this season.
2. Green Bay Packers (2-1)
After looking like the best team in the league and the clear winners of the NFC, they proved that no one is perfect. After dropping a close game to the Browns, which felt like a bye week to this star studded roster, it is safe to say that on any given Sunday, anyone can be stunned.
Although let’s not forget how strong this team is. Despite Jordan Love’s bonehead interception to give the Browns a chance to win the game, he has looked flawless with 53 completions on 663 yards and 5 touchdowns. Matthew Golden, their first round wide receiver is slowly being utilized and Tucker Craft has come into himself as well, with 11 targets on two touchdowns.
With this star studded defense that fights for the best in the league and this dynamic offense called up by an offensive guru in Matt Lafleur,it is hard to put them any lower than number two. I truly believe that despite dropping an easy game, they are still one of the best in the league.
1. Buffalo Bills (3-0)
Josh Allen and James Cook run this team. After a close game on Thursday night, it is clear this team is not perfect. With a horrendous Miami team coming into Buffalo and being able to put up 21 on this defense, it is clear they have some cleaning up to do, especially in the secondary.
Yet this team manages to get it done consistently, and it’s thanks to the offense. Josh Allen looks like the MVP for a second year in a row, with 69 completions on 755 yards and five touchdowns on zero interceptions. James Cook has also taken the next step in his career, racking up 284 yards and 4 touchdowns on 53 carries in his first three games. Keon Coleman has also taken a sophomore leap and Kalil Shakir manages to be a dynamic pass catcher for Josh Allen.
So yes, this is the best team in the league. This offense has been too good to deny it, although they have proven that they are nowhere near perfect on the defensive side of the ball, and for that reason they are still my number one, but I sense a change coming to the power rankings in weeks to come.
