On Monday afternoon it was announced that wide receiver/punt returner Tony Freeman plans to enter the transfer portal.
Freeman, who just wrapped up his junior year, will be looking for his third school after spending his last two seasons in Pullman. Prior to coming to Pullman Freeman played one year at the College of San Mateo in California.
Last season Freeman played in all 13 games for the Cougars and finished the year with eight catches for 125 yards. Additionally as the teams punt returner he had 12 return attempts for 81 yards.
This past season Freeman played in all 12 games and finished the year with 51 catches for 557 yards and three touchdowns. As a punt returner he had 23 attempts for 386 yards. On Nov. 29 against Oregon State he set a school record 169 return yards including a 59-yard return.
Freeman is the third receiver to enter the portal and ninth overall player.
