With the divisional round wrapped up, Kyle Williams and Abraham Lucas had their hands full. However their respective teams were able to get the win and advance for a chance to extend the three year streak of Cougs being in the Super Bowl.
Abraham Lucas (Seahawks) – In his first playoff game since he was a rookie he was dominant against the 49ers. In 2023 Lucas and the Seahawks lost to the 49ers 41-23, this time around they got their revenge winning 41-6. Lucas received a 75.8 pass blocking grade and a 92.5 run blocking grade from PFF. Throughout the game the right side of the offensive line led by Lucas and right guard Anthony Bradford were creating gaps for explosive runs. Next week he will face the Rams for the third time this season. He will be looking to have the same performance against a superior defensive line.

Kyle Williams (Patriots) – While the Patriots beat the Texans, Williams did not do much if anything at all. He finished with zero catches on three targets, his best chance at a catch was on third and nine. When Drake Maye lofted Williams a go-ball, the rookie wide-out dropped it off his fingertips. With Mack Hollins injured Willaims will once again see his playtime increase. In the playoffs it’s your surrounding casts of wide receivers that make an impact. Williams has not had a “big moment” since December, this is his chance to show value. Williams reflected on his time with WSU this past week.
“Pullman brings out those dawgs, you know, it’s a small town, you don’t really get too many opportunities and options to do things, so you solely focus on football,” Williams said. “So, to have the whole Coug Nation behind me, and to be one of those Cougs, it means the world to me.”

Nakia Watson and Kyle Williams celebrate after a first-quarter TD, Oct. 21, in Eugene, Oregon.
Overall, with the season looming for both Lucas and Williams they will be vital to their teams success this upcoming week.
