At the corner of Grand Ave sits a gift shop that blends art, design and local creativity.
Greystone Grand Gallery and Gifts is open Thursday through Friday 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Upon entering the shop, visitors are welcomed with a smile by curator Desiree Greystone. She commented on how she hopes customers feel upon entering.
“We want them to feel surprised, charmed, and welcomed, of course,” Greystone said.
The shop offers a selection of art supplies, unique gifts and STEM kits for children. In addition to retail items, the space also features artwork available for purchase from local artists.
Greystone has a full gallery upstairs that provides a place for beginning and local community artists.
Greystone offers art classes, creating a space where individuals can develop their skills, access supplies and eventually showcase their work in the gallery. The space is rooted in local talent and community involvement, fostering both creativity and growth.
The current exhibit will be open until April 25 and the next will be open on the same day as the Art Walk, May 16.
The shop features a wide range of items, from axolotl-themed journals to a “witchy” corner with sage, stones and similar goods. Among the art supplies, watercolor books and watercolor paper are the most popular items, often selling out regularly.
Looking ahead, Greystone emphasized a focus on meeting customer needs.
”We love when people walk in and say, ‘Hey, do you have?’ I can say, yes, we do,” Greystone said.
On Friday April 4 the shop is having a “Meet The Artist” event where 5 of 13 artists will be upstairs.
“I just would like everybody to know that we’re here. That you know, we’re the only gift shop in town,” Greystone said. “You can come in to buy a birthday present, be in and out within 10 minutes. You can’t do that at Walmart and the items that you’re gonna get are gonna be a little bit different than your run-of-the-mill items.”
