While he did not hear his name called on draft night, Dieu landed an invite from a team with offensive line needs. The Seahawks may have won the Super Bowl, but they do have a lack of quality depth on the line.
They were ranked at the bottom of the league in overall o-line play. If Dieu wants a chance to make the roster or practice squad, he will need to show a dominant run-blocking game. The Seahawks have shown patience with linemen who can run block but not as much in the pass blocking game. Look at current right guard Anthony Bradford, every week he had blunders but could block exceptionally in the zone run game.
Dieu joins Tucker Large, Christian Hilborn, Caleb Francl, Ademola Faleye and Colby Humprhey. All are signings to rookie camp, fortunately they all have a decent chance to make their respective teams’ practice squad.
