WSU volleyball added senior middle blocker Kryssa Moerman yesterday, the team announced on Instagram.
Moerman is a 2025 NCAA DII National Champion who is transferring after spending three years at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She helped lead the Roadrunners to an 86-13 overall record and amassed 395 kills and 267 total blocks, while hitting .358 in her time there.
The Colorado Springs, Colorado, native was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-South Central Region First Team and the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Second Team in 2024. She earned first-team honors in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in 2025.
In high school, Moerman recorded 409 kills and 207 total blocks. She played club ball for the Colorado Juniors.
She adds playoff experience that WSU lacks. While some WSU players, such as libero Tinons Munar Galmés and middle blocker Naomi White, have some college postseason experience, none have statistically contributed to a team that has made it past the second round of the NCAA Tournament, let alone won a national championship at any level.
Munar Galmés made the NCAA tournament with Florida A&M in 2024, and White played in the Big Sky Volleyball Championship with Portland State in 2024 and 2025.
Moerman is now also the fourth upperclassman middle blocker WSU has. The only non-upperclassman is sophomore Lauren Johnson.
Including Johnson, she joins a middle blocker group consisting of redshirt junior Lucie Blažková and seniors Naomi White and Ella Smith.
