Reader Reactions | Wolf researcher resigns from WSU

Readers react to well-known wolf researcher, Robert Wielgus, announcing his resignation after a settlement with WSU.

Tiva Wolfe: “I just read all the information I could find on him, and it seems like he was the victim more than anything else. He did the research he was paid to do, and because lawmakers and livestock owners didn’t like the results, they tried to silence and defame him (and they lost). What am I missing here?”

Donna Eldridge: “Disgusting interference into his research. Just because you don’t like the result, doesn’t mean it is wrong. He was shafted. WSU and Washington should be ashamed.”

Michael Kelly: “His results didn’t mesh with the cognitive dissonance of the ranching industry, so out he goes.”
