The Society of Professional Journalists named The Daily Evergreen a Mark of Excellence national finalist in the Best All-Around Daily Student Newspaper category.

Evergreen reporters Forrest Holt, Cody Cottier and Jessica Zhou were national winners in the General News Reporting, Large School Division category for their reporting on the university’s budget cuts.

The judges of the awards select one national winner and up to two national finalists or runners-up in each category.

This is the second straight year that the Evergreen has been recognized as one of the top three daily student newspapers in the nation.
