WSU forward Robert Franks has withdrawn from the 2018 NBA Draft and will return to Pullman for his senior season.

“We are glad that Robert got the opportunity to test the NBA waters,” Head Coach Ernie Kent said in a WSU news release. “We are excited to have him back for his senior season and continue to contribute to this program.”

Franks was able to return to the Cougars because men’s college basketball athletes are given the chance to put their name in the draft and maintain their collegiate eligibility if they don’t hire an agent and declare by April 22.

Athletes who don’t hire agents have until May 30 to make a decision on whether to enter the draft or return to college.

Franks was named the Pac-12 Most Improved Player last season, led the Cougars with just over 17 points per contest and set a WSU single-game record for three-pointers in a game with 10 in a victory over University of California, Berkeley on Jan. 13.
