WSU Head Coach Mike Leach announced a pair of additions to his coaching staff Tuesday.

The Cougars hired Roc Bellantoni as their new linebackers coach and Dennis Slutak as their director of football operations.

Bellantoni has coached defensive line and linebackers and been the defensive coordinator at three different places during his 26-year coaching career.

Last season, Bellantoni was the defensive ends coach and special teams coordinator at University at Buffalo. In 2017, he was Buffalo’s director of player personnel.

“Roc is an outstanding coach that brings a great deal of experience and expertise to our staff,” Leach said in a WSU news release.  “He is a high energy coach that has a reputation of being an outstanding recruiter and staff guy.”

Slutak spent the past four years as the director of football operations at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In 2013, he held the same position at Bowling Green State University and helped the team go 10-4 in his sole season with the Falcons.

Slutak was also the assistant athletic director for football operations at University of Washington from 2009-2011.

“Dennis has a reputation of being one of the best football operations people in the country,” Leach said in the release.
