Investigators have determined the fire at the American Travel Inn on Tuesday morning to be arson and have issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection with the fire.

According to a Pullman Fire Department news release, William John Young II, 39, is wanted for arson in the first degree and harassment. The news release also stated the damage was estimated at between $80,000 and $100,000.

The fire was reported at 4:45 a.m. at the American Travel Inn on South Grand Avenue. The fire was on the second floor of the motel and the adjoining rooms were damaged in the blaze, said Pullman Assistant Fire Chief Ryan Scharnhorst.

Both guests, employees of a Spokane construction firm in town for a project, escaped unharmed, according to the news release.
