Three new fully electric buses with Pullman-themed liveries were put into service last Thursday.
“It’s a proud new moment for our city,” said Public Works director Sean Wells. “Together, we’re driving towards a greener Pullman.”
The buses are a bit smaller than the standard and have around 25 seats, along with a luggage rack.
“We initially placed the order with airport service in mind. So, a fewer seats, it’s about luggage range,” said Pullman transit director Wayne Thompson.
The buses were funded via state and federal grants and will primarily work the airport and campus routes, Thompson said. The bus patterns were designed by the same person who designed the current cougar liveries.
