The WIFI went out across campus Tuesday night, affecting both residence halls and on-campus apartments. The outage impacted the northside, southside and hillside areas of campus.
“That’s why I can’t connect my computer,” said Joshua Mburu, a second-year nursing student. “I’m frustrated. How am I going to play video games online now…and also study for my test tomorrow?”
Mburu is a resident in an on-campus apartment, also affected by the outage.
WSU was quickly made aware of the outage and began working to resolve the issue immediately, according to Senior Resident Advisor Miles Boudinot.
The WIFI outage, which temporarily disrupted everything from online gaming to studying for exams, lasted for about an hour between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The cause of the outage was an issue involving the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol and firewall, The Crimson Service Desk said.
