Yesterday the Cougs announced on Instagram that they brought in Keith Saito to be part of the coaching staff. He joins WSU as an assistant coach.
Saito spent the past three years as the technical coordinator at the University of Florida. In that position he managed the team’s statistical analysis and video feedback. He was also the technical coordinator at the University of Missouri in 2022.
In 2020 and 2021, he was a volunteer assistant and video coordinator at the University of Nebraska Omaha.
He has also been an analyst for the USA Women’s National Collegiate Tryouts.
In terms of his coaching experience, he has coached at two youth volleyball clubs: Gainesville Juniors and Premier Nebraska Volleyball. He was also a varsity assistant coach for two years at Papillion-La Vista High School in Papillion, Nebraska.
He was a setter, vice president and player-coach from 2015-2018 for the Creighton University men’s club volleyball team. He graduated from Creighton in 2018, earning his Bachelor of Science in exercise science.
He earned a master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine in 2020.
This move came 22 days after former associate head coach Jason Ruppelt left and 34 days after Kristin Watson, a former assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator, departed.
This signing helps bolster head coach Korey Schroeder’s coaching staff, as he now has Cassie Krieger, an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, and Saito by his side.
