Fraternity member’s death confirmed as suicide

Whitman County coroner Annie Pillers confirmed Monday that 19-year-old Luke M. Tyler died from suicide with the cause of death being acute intoxication due to the combined effects of alcohol and bupropion. 

Tyler was a freshman who was part of the Theta Chi fraternity. He was found dead in his Perham dorm room on Jan. 22. A vigil was held for him on Jan. 31 by his fraternity where students and members of the Greek life community gathered.
