Head coach David Riley confirmed Monday afternoon that Emmanuel Ugbo’s season is over.
“His suspension is gonna be upheld for the rest of the season. As an institution, we believe that’s the best course of action,” Riley said in a press conference.
The decision comes after WSU volleyball player Lauren Johnson was issued a protection order against Ugbo, which was granted by a Whitman County judge Feb. 18.
Ugbo’s last game was Jan. 28, when the Cougars won 70-58 against Seattle in Pullman.
The transfer from Boise State played 22 games this year and averaged 6.7 points with 3.5 rebounds per game.
The Cougars’ next matchup is against LMU at 8 p.m Wednesday.
