Forget the haunted house, watch out for the candy house

From staff reports

No need for a trail of breadcrumbs unless you can’t find Jones Theatre at Daggy Hall, where the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) will have auditions for their upcoming show “Hansel and Gretel.”

In this comedy performance, Hansel and Gretel return home from a “perilous adventure” with newfound knowledge about the ancient secret of the Wildwood Witch.

MCT will showcase the production Friday and Saturday and are currently looking for cast members. The MCT show’s directors are encouraging students from kindergarten to high school seniors to audition.

If cast in the show, members should expect to rehearse throughout the week from 4-6 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. each day. Some cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following auditions.

Roles that are open include Hansel, Gretel, and their Granny, as well as the Wildwood Witch and her servants. Also available are the roles of modern-day campers lost in time and the mythical Wallybirds.

Auditions will be held today from 4-6 p.m. in Jones Theatre. Those auditioning are advised to arrive at 3:45 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours.
