September 15th through October 15th marks National Hispanic Heritage Month. The decision to celebrate starting on the 15th is because of multiple Latin American countries gaining their independence around the 15th of September.

This pushed Congress to pass the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which is celebrated every July with Disability Pride Month.

The purpose of the comment section is to foster courteous and constructive discussion of relevant issues. The Daily Evergreen staff reserve the right to delete any comment we deem at odds with that mission.
