The Notre Dame games

From staff reports

WSU volleyball travels to South Bend this weekend to square-off against some stiff competition in the Golden Dome Invite.

The tournament at Purcell Pavilion will pit the Cougs (2-1) against Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (1-3) and host team Notre Dame (0-2) today at 9 a.m. and 4:40 p.m., respectively, and Western Michigan (2-1) tomorrow at 10 a.m.

“It’s definitely some great competition this weekend and scheduling for this year, we definitely scheduled a little tougher,” Head Coach Jen Greeny said in a press conference. “The RPI’s of these teams are greater than they were last year so we need to play better.

“We need to play more consistent, we need to find a consistent right side,” Greeny said. “I think everybody’s getting a little bit better and more consistent as we go along but we need to find it a little quicker.”

In the press conference, Greeny said it was difficult for the team to find a rhythm against Wyoming last week, noting the team’s inconsistency. However, she felt the team responded well against Montana and Cal Poly, winning both games.

“It seems like we play pretty well with our backs against the wall, so we’re just going to have to find a way to do that out of the gates,” she said.

After the Golden Dome Invite this weekend, the Cougs head to the MTSU Blue Raider Bash in Murfreesboro, Tenn. To keep up on the matches this weekend, fans can listen to LIVE in the Palouse on KQQQ-AM radio (1150 AM) and at wsucougars.com.
