Brian Regan to perform at Mom’s Weekend

From staff reports

Mom’s Weekend brings many forms of entertainment to campus. From performances by WSU-run clubs to popular musicians or comedians, Cougar Moms are in for a treat. This year, the headlining entertainment will be Brian Regan’s stand-up show.

Regan’s humor spans generations with the combination and sophisticated writing and physicality, according to Regan’s website. His ability to make a mundane situation into great stand-up material has also been praised by countless critics and other comedians.

Regan has been performing stand-up comedy since the 1980s, and continues to tour all over the country and continent. Over the years, Regan has released two critically-acclaimed Comedy Central specials as well as an hour-long album full of material from several sold-out shows recorded in March 2010.

Regan’s performances are generally quite family-friendly, as he refrains from using profanity during his shows, according to the New York Times. His shows include stories from his childhood, such as stories of little league baseball games and science fair projects.

“He could open for a Disney musical,” stated the Times.

Comedians such as Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Jimmy Fallon and Patton Oswalt have praised his work and referred to him as one of the best stand-up comedians of our time.

Tickets for his 7:30 p.m. show on April 8 at Beasley Coliseum will be available for purchase at 10 a.m. on January 25 at the Beasley ticket office and online at ticketswest.com for $55.50, with a $5 discount for WSU staff, faculty and students.
