High-profile hip-hop artist to perform on campus

From staff reports

The senior ballroom will be poppin’ this Thursday night when WSU welcomes hip-hop phenomenon Lil Yachty.

Lil Yachty, who was featured in D.R.A.M.’s chart-topper “Broccoli,” has made a mark in the hip-hop world at only 19 years old with hits such as “One Night,” “Minnesota” and his newest album “Been Thru a Lot.”

“It’s cool to see a big-time artist come to Pullman,” said Julian Khalifa, Student Entertainment Board concerts programmer. “He’s one of the hottest rappers right now.”

Khalifa added that if students can expect one thing from Lil Yachty’s performance, it’s a fun experience. He’s known for bringing a lot of energy to the crowd and showing fans a good time.

Fans can expect Lil Yachty to hit the stage at around 9 p.m., and student DJ’s Josh Korn and Sean Ratcliffe will provide opening entertainment. Both DJ’s have performed at Pullman events before, such as Marshmello and Cash Cash, so they will do a great job of getting the crowd pumped up, Khalifa said.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the openers will take the stage at 8 p.m. While the concert is sold out, Khalifa said students can still enter ticket giveaways by following SEB on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
