Warm pumpkin pie, cider and the smell of crisp fall come together for the 11th Annual Harvest Celebration put on by the WSU Organic Agriculture Club at the Eggert Family Organic Farm.

The Harvest Celebration has been around since 2005 and is a student-run event. However, this is the first year the WSU Organic Agriculture club has been involved in adding a more creative side to the celebration.

“It’s good to have students who know the farm who run the event,” Brad Jaeckel, manager of the WSU Organic Farm, said.

From face painting to refreshments and to pumpkins, the Harvest Celebration invites the community to see the farm and has something for everyone. Participants will be able to pick their own pumpkins which will be sold by weight.

“You get to walk out physically in the field,” Jaeckel said.

This event is a fundraiser put on by the WSU Organic Agriculture Club. There will also be fresh pumpkin pie for sale, made from pumpkins picked on the farm. Pre-picked vegetables from the farm will also be available for purchase as part of the fundraiser.

The fall Harvest Celebration with WSU Organic Agriculture Club and the opportunity to pick your very own pumpkin will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow. The Eggert Family Organic Farm is located on Animal Science Road, near the WSU Bear Center. The Harvest Celebration asks that pets be left at home.
