The Palouse Women’s Expo is bringing opportunities for women of all ages to connect with each other.

This event was created to give women more opportunities to find a tight-knit community full of resources. Angela Kay, the advertising director for the Lewiston Tribune, mentions that the idea of bringing together diverse resources for women in one location will allow them to easily find resources such as healthcare, financial needs or information from the speakers that empower women.

“It’s a great place to meet some of the business people and the other resources as well as mingle with other people in the community,” said Monica Eggleston, a nurse practitioner for Wellpower Medicine. She will have a booth at the expo.

While helping women in the workforce and in their personal lives, this event also features speakers with information about how to understand the way we interact with one another.

One of two keynote speakers, Megan Guido will explain the drive behind people’s actions and how to find your own inspiration. Guido, director of marketing and a certified color code trainer at Pullman Regional Hospital, explains that her speech can help people understand where others are coming from through the use of colors.

“It helps us understand who we are, what’s driving us and what’s driving other people so that our relationships can be more effective,” Guido said.

In addition to the informational guest speakers on Saturday, Kay explains that this event brings together a diverse group of women. The diversity of the group, whether it’s age, ethnicity or experiences will give women more effective relationships, inspiration and mentorship.

“It’s about sisterhood and finding mentors,” Kay said. “There’s always someone out there that can relate to you. Women’s Expo is for all women in all walks of life.”

The Palouse Women’s Expo gives women a time to relax and have some laughs with two comedians. Debbie Praver, who has performed at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and Mallory Wallace, who was named the “Comic to Watch 2016” in the Denver Comedy Awards will be performing at the event.

“It’s designed to allow the presenters, the attendees and the vendors all opportunities to inspire, educate and empower one another,” caterer for Best Western Shelby Saylors said. “The energy is very exciting and very fun.”

The second annual Palouse Women’s Expo will take place from 5 – 7 p.m. with a comedy show from 7 – 9 p.m. today for $25. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be keynote presentations for free at Best Western Plus University Inn.
