Dropped by the Ducks: WSU baseball loses series two to one against Oregon

With a 7-5 lead heading into the bottom of the eighth the WSU bullpen surrendered six runs to Oregon, losing the series two games to one.

The Cougars (14-25, 7-14) used five different pitchers to get through the bottom of the eighth inning on Sunday. Sophomore left-hander Scotty Sunitsch (3-1) allowed two runs before being replaced by sophomore right-hander Colby Nealy (0-2). In total Sunitsch was responsible for seven runs, all earned, over four innings Sunday.

WSU was unable to come back in the top of the ninth as Oregon won 11-7, another series loss in conference play for the Cougars. The Ducks outscored WSU 19-7 in the final two games of the series, both losses for WSU, after the Cougars won the series opener 4-0.
