Gabe Marks added to Biletnikoff Award Watch List

From staff reports

After a dominant performance where he tallied eight receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns against Oregon, Washington State redshirt junior wide receiver Gabe Marks was added to the 2015 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced Wednesday.

Marks joins Cougar receiver junior River Cracraft on the watch list for the award given to the best pass catcher in College football. Washington State is now the only team in the Pac-12 with more than one player on the list.

Marks has three 100-yard games this season and leads the Pac-12 in receptions per game with 8.6. He is second in the Pac-12 in receiving yards per game with 105.7, and 12th in the nation in that stat.

In the absence of former WSU wide receiver Vince Mayle, Marks has become redshirt sophomore quarterback Luke Falk’s biggest target. After redshirting last season, his numbers have reflected the off-season work between the two of them.

“He’s a gamer. Gabe’s got a special competitive edge to him, and in big-time moments and big-time throws, you want to get Gabe the ball because Gabe wants the ball. It showed on Saturday,” Falk said in an interview with the Seattle Times.
