Russia’s government is doing little to educate it’s citizens on the hazards of smoking even though an estimated 300,000 people die from smoking-related causes each year and the country is facing a population decline. In a recent address, President Vladimir Putin called for young people to have more children, but mentioned smoking only once in relation to other health maladies.
