Three DIYs to create cozy fall atmosphere this season
September 14, 2021
Fall is coming in just a few days, which means it is time for pumpkin spice lattes, blankets, scarfs and everything cozy. If your room needs some fall in it, here are three easy DIYs to spruce it up for the fall season.
Fall leaves DIY
Materials:
- 12 fake leaves
- String – any string works
- Something to connect the leaves to at the top – twine, stick, tree branch
- Something to hang it on the wall – nails, push pins, command hooks
- Hole punch or something to poke a hole into the fake leaves
Steps:
- Count out 12 pieces of string – each string should be about 1.5 to 2 feet long.
- Grab 12 of the fake leaves and punch a hole into each of them.
- Get your fiber of choice. You’ll use it to connect the leaves. Make sure it’s about 3.5 to 4 feet long.
- Take your hole-punched leaves and tie each one to a piece of string.
- Take the string you connected the leaves to and begin to tie that string onto the object you’re connecting the leaves to at the top. You can tie this so the leaves are at varying lengths.
- Cut any excess string off you may have from step five.
- Enjoy your fall leaves DIY!
Fall Banner DIY
Materials:
- Three different colors of paper
- Twine or string
- Glue
- Pens for writing letters (optional)
- Hole punch or something to poke a hole into the banner
Steps:
- Cut your first set of paper in a banner shape. You need six banners. If you need a stencil for the banner, you can print this out.
- Repeat step one, but with another color of paper and make the banner slightly smaller.
- On the third color of paper, you can either cut the letters out or write them on the paper in a cute way.
- For each banner, put the first set of paper down first, then the second set of paper, and lastly the letters. Glue all of this down.
- Add fake leaves to the outer two banners, if wanted.
- Punch a hole onto either side of the top of the banner. Repeat for each of the banners.
- Cut twine or string out.
- Connect the banners together with the twine or string.
- Enjoy the fall banner!
