ASWSU senators confirmed several individuals into unfilled positions at a meeting Wednesday night.

Senior psychology major Lauren Moffat was confirmed into the open executive assistant role.

Moffat said they believe their past experience in crisis response would make them an asset to the team and their background would help them support peers within ASWSU.

They said they hope to gain experience implementing policies on a university campus.

Emma Heilman, freshman political science major, was confirmed into the open judicial board position.

On the pre-law track, Heilman said she believes in allowing all sides to voice their opinions and wants to give the student body a voice in campus decisions.

Heilman said her previous experience in her high school’s associated student body prepared her for the position and she believes she can remain unbiased when difficult situations arise.

Giulia Renner, junior human development major, was confirmed in the second open judicial board position.

Renner said she wants to serve her community in the best way possible and believes her previous experience in a Greek organization and university jobs has prepared her for the role.

Sarah McTiernan, junior public relations major, was confirmed in the open communication senator position.

McTiernan said she hopes to be a friendly face around campus and for Edward R. Murrow College of Communication students.

She said she hopes to help start clubs to support communication students with programs such as the Adobe suite.
