WSU faculty with innovative ideas can apply for a Smith Teaching and Learning Grant of up to $5,000.

The deadline to apply is March 14, according to WSU Insider.

The proposals must relate to inclusivity, diversity, equity and access by containing one of the following components:

  • Teaching practices that close equity gaps when it comes to student performance
  • Uses new ways to develop core competencies and transferable skills
  • Creates collaborative teaching methods to eliminate the differences in student achievement across multiple sections of the course

If an applicant received this award in the past four years, they are unable to apply. The applicant’s chair has to endorse them for the grant, and they must have instructional responsibilities, an appointment of half-time or more and be continuing employment in the 2022-23 school year.
