WSU’s Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture received a record-breaking $20 million donation from Edmund and Beatriz Schweitzer and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories. 

The couple and SEL are donating $10 million each in order to fund a new student success center in Pullman for the Voiland College, according to WSU Insider. 

Voiland College Dean Mary Rezac plans on renovating outdated engineering classrooms and facilities, many of which have not been updated for 60 years, according to the article. 

This donation marks the largest gift Voiland College has ever received and is one of the largest private donations in WSU history, according to the article. In the past three decades, the Schweitzer family and SEL have donated more than $4.3 million to WSU.
