Police are investigating an assault that took place Saturday morning, near Adams Mall on College Hill.
The victim, a 21-year-old male WSU student, was admitted to Pullman Regional Hospital shortly after the incident. According to police reports, he said he had been dancing inside Stubblefields when an unknown attacker punched him in the mouth.
Pullman Police Cmdr. Chris Tennant said the incident more likely took place outside the bar on Adams Mall.
“There is some confusion as to the details of the incident – mainly because alcohol is involved,” Tennant said. “The memories are changing as we investigate.”
The victim was released from the hospital with a broken jaw.
“As for a suspect description, we’re still in the dark,” Tennant said.
DJ Goldfinger, manager and owner of Stubblefields, said after reviewing his video camera tapes, he did not find any evidence of a fight. On his cameras, the victim left the bar without engaging in violence.
“I’m not aware there was any incident that night and I’m looking camera by camera to make sure there wasn’t,” Goldfinger said.
He said the details of the incident continue to change and contradict one another.
