Congestion expected Labor Day weekend
August 30, 2017
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) recommends that travelers plan ahead for the upcoming Labor Day to avoid poor traffic conditions.
Interstate 90 and Snoqualmie Pass are expected to be congested due to bridge deck repairs. Drivers should also expect lane closures, and traffic shifts going through Cle Elum will be congested due to construction.
Last year, WSDOT reported that travel along the Vantage Bridge was expected to range from 20 minutes to 2 hours.
Eastbound travelers should expect traffic Friday, and westbound travelers should expect many delays Monday. WSDOT recommends drivers leave earlier in the day or later in the evening, and that all slow down and stay alert.
