Programs enter Pac-12 play, Cougs host No. 15 Oregon

Saturday’s Cougar football game will be big. Martin Stadium will be rocking come 1 p.m. as the Cougs dawn their Antarachite uniforms in front of Martins Stadium’s first sellout since 2019. It is Duck-hunting season on the Palouse.

WSU football (3-0) is unranked despite beating then-No. 19 Wisconsin in the hostile environment of Camp Randall in Madison, Wisconsin. They took care of business against a winless Colorado State squad in Pullman and have come a long way since almost losing to Idaho in Pullman. On Saturday, Cougar faithful will get a taste of just how far the Cougs can go in a true test versus No. 15 Oregon.

Football, volleyball, soccer and men’s golf each begin their Pac-12 schedules against regional rivals.

WSU volleyball (8-4) was swept by UW in Seattle Wednesday night. The Cougs are 0-4 against ranked teams and continue their tough stretch of games Sunday in LA where University of Southern California is waiting.

WSU soccer (6-1-1) opens Pac-12 play at 6 p.m. Friday in Corvallis, Oregon against the Oregon State Beavers.

WSU men’s golf took home first place at the Husky Invitational.
