Cathy McMorris Rodgers is leading House race for District Five

As the final counts for the Senate, U.S. House of Representatives and gubernatorial midterm elections approach, it appears the Republican Party will take control of the House while Senate seats are up in the air.
The GOP is leading the way in House seating by five seats as of Sunday, according to an ABC News map. The Democratic Party currently stands at 206 seats while the Republican Party stands at 211 seats.
Within the Senate, Democratic and Republican parties are tied as of Sunday, according to an Associated Press map. The GOP currently holds more gubernatorial wins than the Democratic Party.
In terms of House races, Kim Schrier (D) is the projected winner for Washington state District Eight, according to the ABC News map.
Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R) is leading the House race by about 50,386 votes in Washington state District Five, which is the district designated to Whitman County, according to the map.
Of 435 open seats, 37 are likely to lean Democrat, 13 are a tossup and 21 are likely to lean Republican for the House results by pre-election forecasted chances, according to the map.
Patty Murray is the projected winner for Washington state senator with 1,517,012 votes. Tiffany Smiley held 1,139,160 votes as of Sunday, according to a CNN article.
The projected senator winners for states in the West, like Oregon, Idaho, California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and Colorado are Ron Wyden (D), Mike Crapo (R), Alex Padilla (D), Catherine Cortez Masto (D), Mike Lee (R), Mark Kelly (D) and Michael Bennet (D), respectively, according to the article.
Georgia is also projected to hold a runoff election on Dec. 6, according to the article.
