Photo contest for all skill levels to participate
September 27, 2017
The annual Outdoor Photography Contest and Exhibit, hosted by University Recreation and the Student Entertainment Board, welcomes all amateur photographers to submit outdoor-themed photos.
The contest aims to present human- and nature-inspired outdoor recreation, according to the UREC website. The photographs will be judged by technical skill and visual framing of the object or person.
The photographs will be judged in five categories: landscape scenes, people interacting with nature, wildlife and still life, cultural significance of another society and the best of Washington.
The photographs can be submitted by uploading them to a personalized Flickr page, joining the WSU Outdoor Photography Contest, tagging each category that your photos fall under and putting your photos onto the group page, according to UREC.
Submissions are accepted until Oct. 15. Participants are allowed no more than four submissions, according to UREC.
The top-five photos in each category will be uploaded to the ORC Gnome Facebook Page and displayed on the Student Entertainment Board Gallery in the CUB, according to UREC
The annual Outdoor Photography Contest winners will be announced at the Banff Mountain Film Festival, which begins Oct. 28.
By the start of intermission at the Banff Film Festival, the photograph with the most Facebook “likes” will win the People’s Choice Award, according to the UREC.
For those interested, more information on submission details is available at the UREC website.
