Lana Radakovic, the middle blocker who transferred to play for WSU in the 2023 season UC Davis, has signed her first professional contract and will join her new club for the rest of their current season.
Radakovic will start her pro career in Spain as she has signed a contract to play for Club Voleibol Haris.
“I’m so excited to be joining club Haris for the rest of the season. I am so just extremely grateful to be a part of this club and this team,” Radakovic said in an Instagram post.
Over 99 sets in 30 matches with the Cougs, Radakovic did more than enough to keep the Cougs momentum up when Magda Jehlárová took breaks. She finished the season with 134 kills, a .336% hitting percentage and 77 blocks, which were averages of 1.25 kills per set and 0.78 blocks per set.
Being a vital part of the rotation, Radakovic had 10 kills and five blocks in the Cougs run to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
“I have always been someone who can bring a lot of energy to the court. I’ve been watching games and it seems that the girls have a lot of fun. So I’m excited to join that energy they have, because I’m also extremely passionate. So I’m going to be competitive in the gym, on the court, in the games and in the training,” she said on signing her first contract.
Radakovic will make her professional debut with the club Jan. 6, 2024 against Avacara Mencora in the Balearic Islands.
